Following our tea at Browns, we headed to the Dominion Theatre to see the show We Will Rock You with music by Queen. I was a huge Queen fan in the 80s so this was going to be quite a treat. We managed to buy great seats at the front but Lorraine got to hers first as I had to make a quick 'loo stop'. When I headed for the front I saw our row and her blond head. Our row was full and the people seemed quite irritated when they needed to manouvre their popcorn, drinks and programmes to stand and let me pass to get to my seat. After treading on lots of feet and hitting knees with my bags, I was horrified to see where Lorraine was sitting - right at the beginning on the row on the opposite side and mine was actually the aisle seat..........hilarious!!! I am sure the other show goers were ready to punch me. I really must get new glasses.
The story was somewhat lame but music was great and the younger folks in the crowd seemed somewhat bemused when all of us 'oldsters' were punching the air, clapping and singing without inhibition..especially We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You. What is wrong with the youth today....they really need to learn have a good time...haha.
As an added note, no-one was even close to the amazing vocal talents of Freddie Mercury but they went for it with gusto!
